The Horseshoe Tavern Presents:
Tom was fiercely proud of Canada’s independence, culture, and history. He spent his life celebrating what made this country unique, and he had no patience for anything that undermined it. He famously rejected the idea of chasing American success in the music industry, so the thought of Canada losing its sovereignty would have him stomping harder than ever.
He’d likely remind folks that Canada isn’t just some northern extension of the U.S.—we’ve got our own identity, our own stories, and a whole lot of people who wouldn’t take kindly to being told otherwise. And knowing Tom, he wouldn’t just be upset about the idea—he’d turn it into a rousing anthem that had people raising a pint and singing along.
Come celebrate the legacy of Stompin' Tom Connors and by extension, our Canadian identity, with the band Tom played with most often, Whiskeyjack, Billy MacInnis and some very special guests!
